Communists and infidels

Contra my friend Lefty Justin below, I found the Super Bowl a rockin affair. It's not just that I have been a Steelers fan for five years. No, I was drawn in by the trick plays, the drama of Bettis finishing his career with a dozen more unstoppable guaranteed-3.5 yard runs, Ben looking all baby-faced and bashful, and Polamalu finally getting the attention he's deserved for three seasons. The Steelers won some close calls, but the Waterbirds just kept killing themselves with obvious fouls. The Steelers were a compelling team, a quintessentially American team of long history, faith in something beyond the present moment, and repeatedly screwing up.
